From 2025, insured persons can even deduct their contributions up to the maximum amount completely as special expenses from the tax.

The maximum amount of Rürup pension increases in 2017/2018
In addition to the deductible portion of the Rürup pension increases the maximum creditable amount. By 2014, this was set for single people at 20,000 euros per year. On the other hand, Rürup savers can pay in total a higher amount. In 2018, the maximum contribution is 23,712 euros. Of these, the tax office takes into account 20,392 euros (for married couples 40,784 euros). Basis for the calculation is the contribution assessment limit of the miners pension insurance west of 96,000 euros per year and their contribution rate of 24.7 percent.
